Here you go:

Next month, the world will celebrate the 2012 Summer Olympic Games in London.

I'm delighted to extend you the opportunity to join my team and some special guests at the exclusive Qantas Lounge located within the elegant Sofitel St James on Pall Mall, in the heart of Central London*.

From Friday 27 July until Sunday 12 August, please join other Qantas guests and enjoy a little piece of home away from home. The lounge will offer you and a guest refreshments in comfort as the Australian Olympic Team competes on the world stage.

Personally I would not bother. Compared to the BA offering it was fairly weak.

If you were invited you will get a text on the day confirming your reservation.

I'm told that Lauren Jackson, Cathy Freeman, and one of the swimming silver Medalllists were present at various times to mingle with the guests^

I was there the night Lauren Jackson popped in. Lovely girl. One of the QF32 pilots was also there and spoke to the crowd. I thought the popup lounge was great. Good bubbles, great canapes, and excellent location. The lady at the reception desk who organised it all was very friendly.

well i didn't get any confirmation texts but i called the sofitel (thanks!!) and popped in on wednesday. all the staff were extremely friendly, it was really nice to have a drink before heading off to the beach volleyball, and mitchell watt (and his silver medal) were there, which was pretty cool! overall, a nice thing to do - thanks qantas :)

Personally I would not bother. Compared to the BA offering it was fairly weak.A little harsh Traveloguy!

Firstly, its hardly fair to compare the offering of a huge UK airline that is the official airline of the Olympics with the offerings of a smaller foreign airline with a limited UK presence that is just a sponsor of the Australian team.

Secondly, I have actually been very impressed with what QF have done here - while nothing like the BA lounge etc (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/british-airways-executive-club/1373729-day-olympics-courtesy-ba.html) we were invited to attend it as many days of the Olympics as we like (not just once), there have been some great guests there - the ones I have heard of or saw in person are Matt Goss, Lauren Jackson, Cathy Freeman, Jessica Fox (with her Silver medal) and Sally Pearson with her Gold medal ! - and you can actually talk and spend time with them as there are not that many people in the small and initimate lounge.

And I understand they have been taking some QF FFers to Olympics events too inc. hospitality etc, which is not too shabby.

It has been great to have it as and when you are in the area - I managed to go a couple of times - or before going to Olympic events (it is right by the Beach volleyball!).

So, especially if you do not have access to the BA offerings, it is a very nice perk. And hey, free champers and food in a comfy lounge has got to be better than no champers or food and no lounge, no?!? ;)

I attended the lounge on Thursday, and heard Sally Pearson speaking. I went with low expectations about the lounge, but thought what Qantas did was fantastic. It was great hearing Sally speak (and got to hold her Gold Medal), and I enjoyed speaking with the other Australian and UK guests who attended. Everyone I spoke to was a Platinum Frequent Flyer.

I really enjoyed chatting with other WPs and was quite surprised by how much in common I had with the people I spoke to - everyone seemed hard working, career builder types who have had similarly amazing travel experiences and have simiarly experienced the downsides of lots of work travel.

Even went out to dinner afterwards with a couple of WPs. Really good fun. Well done Qantas.
