Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Better F: LH or F (and how can you tell if LH flight is New F)?

What are the differences between LX and LH in F?

Food (both do both have caviar?), champagne (Dom Perignon?)/wine, seats, IFE, ZRH vs FRA lounges, etc.

Also, how can I tell is MUC-BOS tomorrow on LH 424 (A346) is New First or Old First?

Well, LH is saying it's New First. So that is good to hear. Also, does LH give out PJs in F during daytime flights? LH 422 MUC-BOS is 8+ hours and departs at 3:55pm.

Does the first class lounge at MUC offer free massages? How does it compare to the lounge at FRA which I was in about 7-8 years ago (pretty fancy, with nice whiskey bar).

I am connecting from WAW: will I be met at the connecting flight and driven to the first class lounge and then from the lounge to the outbound flight?

Does anyone have a current TransAtlantic Eastbound menu?

Thanx in advance.

Differences are obviously hard product. LH has caviar as opposed to Balik salmon on LX. Champagne is better on LX (laurent Perrier Grand Siecle). Don't know about the LH F seat but the A330 LX F is great. In New F and A330 F IFE should be similar. ZRH F lounge is great for a late departure with the fantastic food that is available but otherwise the LH FCL in MUC is very good with a better drink selection and solid food.

My understanding of the PJs on LH is that you only get the shirt for day flights. MUC lounge is small but nicely appointed. Very extensive whisky selection though not a big as FCT in FRA.

The menu thread says LH doesn't not serve caviar trans-atlantic? Not sure what the shirts are like. I once got a nice Bogner light weight 1/4 zip sweatshirt.

Not sure whether they will offer a choice of a shirt or PJs, seeing that this is a quasi night flight and the cabin itself is very open (5/8 seats open, with two of us comprising the 3 seats currently booked in F).

Apologies. I thought LH was still serving caviar on all F flights. If they aren't and haven't replaced it with a high level alternative (like the Balik salmon) then that is quite a disappointment.

The menu thread says (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/18570481-post1047.html) caviar in F is not mentioned on some menus because it's a standard offering and doesn't change each month.

You can see some here (http://www.ebay.com/sch/sis.html?_nkw=Lufthansa%20First%20Class%20Polo%20S hirt%20Sweater%20XL%20Van%20Laack%20&_itemId=330605924301). I believe they are supposed to hand out pajamas on all flights with the new F (A380 and 748i). Not sure about retrofitted F.

While I can understand the excitement of flying F (to some extent) the OP is requested to peruse the various individual threads that explain the details:
