I have not noticed that there's any way to cancel checkin online other than to make a change to your flight which would then automatically un-check you in for the old flight. Why do you need to do it? In the PMUA world there was a use for that feature...if an upgrade cleared after you checked in you'd need to do that to get an F class BP. But that doesn't appear to be an issue now. chrisdeaner Aug 7, 12, 3:02 pm I had to do that before the 3/3 merger to switch from a UA to a CO flight. The only way the gate agent knew how to do it was to call in to UA. RobOnLI Aug 7, 12, 7:50 pm There is no way to "check out" once you are checked in. You can call the airline and they'll do it for you but there's no reason to do it. If you are going to miss your flight or not take it you need to call UA and notify them *before* the scheduled flight. Otherwise your ticket will be cancelled. -RM Vulcan Aug 7, 12, 11:21 pm If you have a refundable ticket, you must call UA before flight time or lose the value of the ticket. Way back, some of us would visit the PCs to drink and hang out (before gate passes for PC members) and the MO was to buy the cheapest refundable ticket and go to a service area after clearing security and have them 'Uncheck you in'. They would then issue the refund as well, if that was what you wanted. This is actually not true for refundable tickets... only nonrefundable. Refundable tickets (at least those that are refundable/changeable without any service fee) do not lose their value if not cancelled by departure time. stevenshev Aug 8, 12, 10:43 am This is actually not true for refundable tickets... only nonrefundable. Including if you check-in and then simply no show. |
