Hilton HHonors - Can I combine the Amex Surpass and Visa Signature into one account?

I have been a Surpass cardholder for four months now and racked up 25k in spending but not all the places that I do business at take the Amex so I ordered the Visa Signature card to eliminate this issue. When I call to activate the card will they give me a additional HH # or can I use the one I have when I orginally became a HH member (that I use for Surpass) and dump the 40k in points (after 1k in spending) into my orginal HH acount?
I hope this makes sense,
Anthony

You can have both cards tied to one HH account.

Next question is will I get the 40k bonus if I have already gotten a 60k bonus with I applied with the Surpass card? I read on some other thread that the new bonus will be deducted from the old bonus leaving with with 20k in bonus points.

I assume you mean the signup bonus from the Visa? They are completely separate. The card companies buy the points from Hilton. They tell Hilton what points to post.
So your Amex points have no relation to your Citi points - except that you can have them both go into the same HHonors account.

If you are talking the visa card and Hilton Am Ex card, yes you get the bonus on both. Not sure if this is still the case but you used to be able to churn the visa card for additional points.
If you have the surpass card for the $40K spend for Diamond, I would recomend getting the Citi Hilton reserve. You only pay $20 a year more for it and get 2 free nights after $2,500 in spend for a sign up bonus (no points though) and diamodn after $40K in spend and no foreign transaction fees and a free night every year you renew as long as you have $10K in spend. Just downgrade the surpass to the regular Hilton am ex so you can still get axon stays and the 6pts/$ on things like grocery and cell phone charges.

Did you apply for the Visa Signature online? If so, did you enter your existing HH number then?
If so, they should use it, though sometimes they make mistakes.
If not, then Citi doesn't know your existing HH number, and will initially assign you a different one.
If they assign you different one, then HH can merge the accounts, and Citi can convert the card to the correct account, but in my experience it may take quite a few phone calls to get it permanently straightened out.

Thanks for the tip. I called them up and told them that I wanted to apply but if I am correct I did not give them my HH #. When I call to activate the cards I'll give them my number and get the card merged with the surpass card. Thanks again,

You can't 'merge' the cards. You should have just given CITI your HH # when you applied. Points earned on each card will flow into your single HH account. Make sense? So yes, when you activate the CITI card, give them your HH # or they issue you a new HH acct. If that happens you can call HH later and have the two merged.
