Africa - Recommended airlines to Marrakesh?

My wife and I were thinking of adding RAK to our next Europe trip. While I like saving $ as much as the next guy, we're not going to take Easyjet/Ryan/et al. Rather we're wondering if anyone has any experience taking Royal Air Maroc?

Or, if it's really that horrible (as per the Skytrax reviews), what other airline would you recommend?

Depends where you're flying from, several major European airlines (Air France, British Airways, Lufthansa, TAP) fly into Marrakech from their hubs.

There's no reason not to fly Maroc - it's far from the best airline you'll ever fly, but it's not terrible and better than Ryanair. I'm not too sure on fares, especially since I'm not too sure where you are leaving from, but I'd take a look at Air France since they are a major player in the European-West African market.

Thanks. I did take a look at AF and their schedule isn't as frequent.

Royal Air Maroc isn't that bad however if you don't want it, then you can try other European airlines as Dredgy has already said.

I have a trip coming up in Oct flying into Madrid with a return from Lisbon on Delta. I have booked a side trip Madrid to Marrakech returning to Lisbon using
Iberian. I looked at Easy Jet, Ryan Air, and Air Maroc. With all the fees for baggage and booking and looking the wrong way and flight times with Air Maroc I just booked with Iberian.

Over the years I've flown Royal Air Maroc, British Air & Air France. Honestly, there's not much difference that separates the best from the worst, nor is it a particularly long flight from many parts of Europe.

Hi, so if I have a choice between RAM to Marrakesh and AF to Casablanca then drive, what would you recommend?

Thanks.

Flew RAM in late 2012 form Barcelona to Casablanca. Had no issues, would fly again. We drove to Marrakech late at night (against recommendation, but oh well). If you have time and can drive in daylight, the highway was great in between.

I don't think there's enough difference to influence choice of destination. I'd use whichever is most convenient. :)

Do you want to see anything in Casa? I found driving there to be a complete headache, so I'd avoid it if I had a choice.

Just took Portugalia (a Star Alliance member through TAP Portugal) from Lisbon to Marrakesh. Good sized plane (Fokker), friendly crew, easy airports to navigate. This was my first time in Africa, so I do not have much to compare and contrast, but I really liked it. Did camel trekking and medina exploration.

There is easy Jet, Royal Air-Maroc this are the best air-lines i'd recommend for someone travelling to Marrakech, coming from NY to Casablanca used Iberia which linked to Royal Air-Maroc. so both are highly recommended ones.

Just take the train from CMN to Marrakech. You can catch the train at the airport, one simple change at Gare Casa Voyageurs (or a closer station) and you are on the Marrakech Express.
