I have around 20,000 JPMiles which will expire by end of next month.
Is there any US program(Hotel/Airline) where I can transfer these?

i don't think you can transfer these to any program, not to my knowledge. however, if you have any travels coming up, Jet books award tickets on United, US Airways, Delta and American... amongst others. only condition, it cannot be canceled or changed after booking.

Is 20000 thousand miles enough for a round trip award on UA.

you are right....the miles cannot be transferred....booking on one of the american carriers would be the op's best bet....

probably not....don't you need 12.k miles for a one way????

As far as I know you are correct. I just wanted to confirm. Actually I read the response hurriedly and only UA stood out in my mind. What about he rest of the airlines?
Some will allow one way ticket. Not many need to use a one way trip.

The suggestion of booking an award ticket with JP miles on UA/DL/US/AA is quite silly.

i disagree....over the last 2-3 years i've booked dozens of flight on ua & aa using 9w miles....some routes are great value using 9w miles....routes like lga-ord & pdx-lax have only cost me 2.5k 9w miles + inr 125....

Oh wow! Only 2.5k miles and about $2.50. How does Jet do that when a round trip award within North America is 25k miles + the security fee?
Are 9W miles cost more to earn? Why would UA or DL or any other other US carrier give the award unless Jet pays the difference in cash?
Isn't that a disastrous heading?
What am I missing here?

Jet doesn't pay UA or DL in miles - it buys award tickets in cash... if jet values 2.5k miles as the amount it costs to book an award ticket (or more), then they won't "lose money" on the transaction.

It's probably a typo. My guess is Keyser meant to type 12.5k, not 2.5k.

if you go on the 'online partner redemption' page on the jet site, you can see the option of putting in different routes to see how much miles are required....most of the popular routes are 15k miles but there are a lot that are also 10k, 5k & as low as 2.5k....

A paid transcon trip on a Jet Airlines American partner will net you more than twice that many miles. I wonder about the "Buy one and get two free" logic. How does Jet intend to pay for these It's an excellent deal though.
Evidently not many JP members know about this. Having been with US, AA and UA at various times I finally settled with NW and now delta over a decade ago. Sometimes I have to fly other airlines. Those orphaned miles die as I just don't feel like taking the time to juggle my miles. Life is too short to be juggling miles.

I know some do, but not which ones. It's a lot of work to keep up with different programmes and their rules.
Come to think of it, isn't it immaterial whether UA has one way award. You are redeeming JP miles, if JP allows one way awards, it can ask for one way ticket.

You cannot get a transcon for 2.5k miles. The routes which cost 2.5k miles are generally short.

I misread LGA-ORD&PDX-LAX as transcon. Regardless a transcon is not typically 10 times the price of LGA-ORD, or even PDX-LAX.

I don't know about that. PVD-EWR (random example) can usually had for $39 or $49 each way with advanced purchase... A transcon from PVD is usually $200+ each way.

So the transcon is roughly 4-5x more expensive than the short hop. Similarly, a 12.5k mile transcon is 5x more expensive than a 2.5k short hop.

This is a very specific example, but pricing doesn't look too wacky..

Are you talking about 1984? One might find the fares you have quoted above but are not "usual" fares for the route. Shuttles are another matter.

But what is it you are trying to say? That 2.5k is not a fantastic deal?

And if they keeping dishing out these awards at 2.5k a pop, they'll probably have nothing but fumes left to carry on. Do the levy fuel surcharges at least? (even if AA etc don't on domestics....?) Wonder how much they have to reimburse the operating carrier on these...?

Following up from Whizkid's post, it seems most of US and Canada are divided into 8 zones (Zone Z-15 to Z-22).. and flights within the cities in Z-15, Z-16, Z-17, Z-18 are for 5k miles, return.. but anything within the zones for others, or from one zone to the other is a flat 30k miles return..

Depending on how far u wanna fly, this can give some great value on Jet Pesos..

ah.. im getting that feeling of a day well spent..

When I tried calling their US call center number to book partner awards, I was told that it was not possible to do it over the phone. I would have to send the details over email and it would take them 2-3 working days to revert back to me.
