I'm a new *G member, after taking many flights last year. Will be taking my first flight with *G status next month.

I will be flying YVR to HKG. My question is -- Can I use the *A lounge (and most importantly, their showers) when I arrive in HKG? Or is *A lounge access at departure only?

I can't find this information on the *A website or the Air Canada website (which I am flying). And I did a search on the forums but didn't find anything relevant. Thanks in advance for your help.

If AC hasn't designated a particular lounge as an Arrivals facility, then there isn't one. Most *A lounges are departure only, unless otherwise specified.

You might want to check out this thread I started about 6 years ago:-

In the end I did use the hotel's facilities and it was definitely worth it!

Thanks Allen. I might use the fitness facilities then.

It sure would be nice if we could access the lounges on arrivals. Darn.

at Hong Kong or Singapore airport I would use the transit hotels for this purpose. I think the one at Hong Kong is called the Regal. You can usually pre-book shower, massage etc. giving your flight number in case of delays.

The OP was asking about arrivals facilities , not transit facilities. Transit hotels are only available to transit passengers. At HKG the Regal is not a transit hotel as it is landside so can be used if HK is your final destination, or you are prepared to exit the airport on a layover. In my case which I refer to above I was not transitting, rather transferring to the China Ferry, which is downtown, not one of the airport ferries.

Yes.

There is no arrivals access unless a carrier designates such. And when they do it is generally for premium cabin customers, not based on elite status.
