nformation in the global GDS reservations system, supplied by airlines for use by travel agents and tapped by the Airline Route website, lists the daily MH128/129 service between Melbourne and Kuala Lumpur as switching from the current Airbus A330 to an A380 beginning March 1st, 2013.

That starts 25 Nov this year ex KUL (26 Nov ex SYD) :)

MH will use the A380 for SYD from end of November and for MEL in March next year. The new A333 will replace the B772 for SYD from March as well.

Actually on the same date, the A330 used for MH128/129 exMEL that goes A380 swaps directly over to SYD to replace the 772 flight. MH will effectively operate both MEL & SYD the same, both double daily, 1 flight operated by A380 and the other by A330.

With the introduction of A380 flights, MH will be brining back F to the MEL market, competing directly with QF, SQ & EK who operate A380's to MEL on the competitive Kangaroo route. Will be interesting to see if QF might place their code on MH flights exAustralia and various other destinations. MH will be the 4th A380 operator to MEL.

It would make the most sense for QF to code-share with MH since they don't fly directly to KUL.

Unless somehow QF flies to KUL which is like winning Lotto :)

Exactly! Code-sharing on MH metal is the simplest way of accessing the MH network, especially around South-East Asia.
