Hello
I had a question in regards to upgradeable tickets. I fly LAX to Tokyo about 2-3 times a year. I have mileage with ANA, but the upgradeable fares are quite pricey. I have points with Starwood and I was holding off on transferring to ANA Mileage club, as I'm not sure if I'll be able to purchase upgrade tickets at a reasonable fare in the near future. In looking at Singapore fares, it seems like the flexi fares are much cheaper. Obviously, I know that upgrades aren't guaranteed, but I want to feel like there is at least a possibility.
But, then I just read a thread on this forum that some say to go with UA MP because there is a smaller fuel surcharge, but that's for trying to get award tickets. I know that upgrades can only be used with Kris Flyer miles? So much info out there! I'm self employed, so when I fly to Japan to see my clients, its a business expense anyways, so I'm not concerned about getting free tickets, since its a business expense. Is it difficult to upgrade on Singapore?
Thanks!
