bmi diamond club - Points from CC account into Diamond Club

I recently took out a BMI Visa?Amex card and was awarded 20000 bonus points. These are showing on my credit card account but how do I transfer them into a Diamond Club account so that I can then transfer them to Avios? I haven't opened a Diamond Club account as yet as I thought that it might be done automatically but I haven't had notification that this has happened. I've emailed customer services but they haven't replied.

The monthly points post from the credit card to the DC account, on the statement date generally, so i guess the 20000 will post when you get your statement, if your DC account is open by then!!

A DC accound will probably have been opened for you. The trouble will be finding out what the accout number is and getting access to it. That can be dificult. Try contacting DC if you have already gone through first statment period. If not completed statement period 1, you could try doing it yourself and hope they still find it. But don't create your own if already through statment 1.

Generally considered opinion is to recommend people open their own Diamond Club account directly first before applying.

If you send a message to MBNA asking what the DC number is, they should be able to tell. I had used an existing account but sent them a message to confirm the account number before the first statement, and they were able to confirm it.
