I was just verifying the mileage in my OZ account and noticed it was off by a few miles than what I expected. I discovered that the mileage earned on certain routes has changed recently. For example, a few months ago, ICN-HKT was 2690 miles, now it's 2693. ICN-CEB went from 1884 to 1887. So my guess is that they were using one database to pull their mileage from before, and have changed it to a new database. Or else they're just adding 3 miles to everything. I don't as of yet have any other routes with differences to compare. Even though the amounts seem to be very small, it could potentially make the difference for someone who may end up just under or over what they expected. Anyone else notice this?

Maybe it's global warming, causing ICN to move 3 miles due to expansion of Korea?

Even back in 2008, SIN-ICN, flying on SQ but credit to OZ, one gets 2880 miles but if you fly SQ or OZ and credit to SQ, one gets around 2870 miles or so.

I guess there's no consistency.

Yeah, I've known for a long time that different airlines use different databases. And with all airlines it doesn't seem to matter what the carrier is, the same route will always be the same miles for a given FFP. The differences are usually just between FFP's. In my case, all flights were on OZ metal, credited to OZ.

If I go to the OZ booking engine and do a dummy booking ICN-HKT, it still shows as 2,690 miles. So I guess their booking engine is still using the old database, but the software that credits your miles to your account is using a new database.

2874 to be exact. I just happened to be booking a real ICN-SIN ticket with SQ just now and that's the number the SQ site reports. And checking my records of past ICN-SIN on SQ metal, credited to OZ it was 2880 as you said. I'll report back next week how many miles I got by crediting this flight to OZ.

This is going to be interesting because I have the same route ICN-SIN end of August on SQ and crediting to OZ I might change the crediting FFP :p

A_Lee, just like yours, all my past flight mileages with OZ, 2880 were credited except very last one was 2883. But when you check the chart on Asiana inflight magazine state 2880 for ICN-SIN.
Another occasion, where Krysflyer were used, SQ credited 2874 only.

My trips to South East Asia in April all had the old mileages. A transpac trip in May also had the old mileage. South East Asia trips in June and July had the mileage +3. I haven't had any transpac trips in the past 2 months, so not sure if they'll also be +3 or not. Anyone with some recent transpac or other routes notice a difference in the mileage? Not that it really matters - it'll take 334 trips just to earn an extra 1,000 miles at this rate.

On my most recent OZ flights I had +5 miles for one and +0 for another. So there doesn't seem to be any consistency to the changes.
