So... I know few people here travel greyhound as its not the nicest way to go but for those who do, there's no traveler forum for questions, so fingers crossed.

1. Is it possible to book a itinerary over the phone or at the counter by specifying which schedule you want? I can only get the website to pull up the most direct route. Ex. Arrive in NYC at 7:00 AM and leave to DC after 6:00 PM, not the next bus after arrival as the site would give me. I asked one agent over the phone and they said not possible but I can't believe that.

2. For Free Tickets earned through road rewards, does selecting a "refundable" ticket allow for the flexibility allowed to it normally or will the fact that it's free change that? AKA: As far as changing schedules.

3. Anyone ever ride the NYC to Montreal redeye. What kinda equip they use on that route?

Longshot anyone will answer these but worth a try.
Cheers.

If you alert a Moderator and request that your thread be moved to the FT Budget Travel forum, I suspect you will get more replies over there.

There is no pre-boarding, no zones, no first/business class. They may pull a spare bus if one is available, but this is not guaranteed and subject to enough demand. If no spare is available, you will be bumped to the next departure. Not sure what it is like for Greyhound US, but tickets bought at the station in Canada are valid for that specific day and not a specific departure. Only tickets bought online are valid for specific departures, but you are still not guaranteed a seat (and once again bumped to the next departure if the bus is full).

This is not 100 percent true. On certain premium routes, dubbed "Greyhound Express," you are assigned a boarding sequence number and line up accordingly.

These routes are also more apt to have the new, nicer Prevost buses with the gray / blue exterior and leather seats than the old, tired MCI buses with the white exterior.
