I will be transiting through Frankfurt airport and have 10 hrs to connect my flight to south Africa. I am star gold. What is the best lounge and do any lounges have sleeping room?
On return, I am transiting through Zurich. I have about 5hrs. What is the best lounge?
Thanks.

At FRA, the new SEN lounge in terminal B is, in my opinion, pretty fantastic. Great bar with all kinds of fancy cocktails, (actual fresh mint mojitos!) excellent shower facilities. Food was decent but might not be filling enough for some. I'm not sure if they have a dedicated quiet area, but I imagine they have something along those lines.

Yes, I believe there is an area for sleeping (though no separate rooms) in the Pier B SEN Lounge. However, 10 hours is far too long to spend in a lounge. If the OP does not need a visa to enter Schengen, I suggest a trip into Frankfurt or Mainz during the layover.
In ZRH the Panorama lounge in Dock E (longhaul terminal) is used by many FFPs. The OP should check with his/her FFP. There are also SEN Lounges in A (Schengen area so need to clear passport control) and D (non-Schengen, no passport control needed) to which *G have access. Again the OP can visit Zurich during the layover if no Schengen visa is needed.

Or if the OP does want to sleep, he could reserve a day room at the Sheraton, Hilton or Garden Inn which are attached to the Airport. (past immigration)

In ZRH, for 5 hours his best choice is either the SEN non-schengen lounge in D gates, or the SEN Schengen lounge in A. But for 5 hours, if he's able to enter Schengen, I would just visit downtown Zurich, especially with good weather. Same with Frankfurt. 10 hours in a lounge is just too much..

In ZRH defintely the SEN lounge in Pier A even if yoyur flight leaves from Satellite E - the panorama lounge in E is sub-par and overcrowded. It is a 15 minutes trek from E to A -including train and passport control. Did it yesterday!
