West - Would I have enough time to make it to COS?

I need to be in Colorado Springs in late August. If I finish work at 4pm near the AFA (National Academy Blvd and I-25), would I have enough time to drive to COS, return the car, and make a 5:20pm flight? COS seems like a small enough and easy-to-navigate airport.
(anyone else feel like this should be a kid's math problem? At 4pm, Bob starts driving east to the airport at 60 mph. A train heads west at 45mph...)

um...no.....
Its universal you need to check in to your flight at least an hr before your flight no matter the airport.
Coming from the academy at 4pm is rush hour traffic of employees leaving to go to their homes...so you have heavy traffic.

There is a very, very slim chance you could make it by T-30. Security at that time of day is typically quick.
But I would NEVER chance this, and if I did I'd never try the route (Woodmen to Powers) that the GPS would probably give you.

How do you suggest when coming from the north? When I drive down, I just follow the signs. Is there a better way?

Yes.
Follow the signs on I-25 to the airport, which will be U.S. 24 east. Take the first exit south on South Union, which becomes Hancock.
Right on Academy (the turn lane to south Academy is before one would expect it). Stay in the right lane, exit to Milton Proby going east. Take that all the way to the airport.

Cool. Coming down this week, so this is good timing. And if UA keeps running these COS-PHX fares.... well, I might be crashing your little airport a lot more in the future!
And I've always wondered in the past about how the signs take you from 25 to COS one way, and then bring you from COS to 25 another! I guess I was always to lazy to look at a map and see what was going on!
