Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Marriott Rewards Platium 5-Star

Whilst checking in at a Courtyard yesterday, I came across a chart that had various Platinum tier membership within the Marriott Rewards programme.

- Platinum Elite (Had it for last 15 years)
- Platinum Premier (Had it for 3 years - nothing special but it was good to know I was one of the top tier members)
- Lifetime Platinum (I have this now)
- Platinum 5-Star (how does one get this?)
- Platinum Chairman's Club (how does one get this?)

I am curious in know how one gets Platinum 5-Star and Chairman's Club?

Anyone can shed some light on the above.

Yeah you pretty much have to either live at an expensive Marriott all year, or be on the board of Marriott or a personal friend.

well he does make an annual trek down to RST so if you pick the right day and head a little south you might be able to find him to ask, I guess that would make it a challenge :)

I believe there is also a 5-Star in Providence... there is a guy who has lived at the Marriott there for years.

living in a hotel doesn't make you a 5-star Plat, being on the BOD does :)

I figured if somebody lives there he'd probably have some special status too. lol

He did have some kind of gold nametag.
