Compliments of the season, FT,

A mate and I are planning to visit a couple of new arrival/friends to Honesdale, PA in a couple of weeks. Besides nothing, what else can we do/see within an hour/hour.5 drive of that town? The Poconos, well, they've been ventured to enough by me, although worthwhile destinations can include alpine slides/water parks/regional cuisine (it MUST exist somewhere, be it Scranton or Lake Wallenpaupack)/waterfalls/places to kick back and skim a rock or one hundred.

Thanks,
TBS

Camelback Mountain (Tannersville, PA) has Camel Beach and Mountaintop adventures during the summer.

Haven't done it, but google maps shows this: Upper Delaware Scenic & Recreational River (http://www.nps.gov/upde/planyourvisit/things2do.htm)

There are so much to do in or around the Poconos area.
Such as Pocono white water dot com,
Great Wolf Lodge, hiking, camping, mountain biking, paintball, etc.
Use Google search for contacts and locations.

Skinners Falls might be worth a Google - not far from Honesdale. Never seen it personally, but somewhat legendary to whitewater sports types.

I had a quite nice visit to the Lackawanna Coal Mine once. I think we just did it as a break from driving on 81, but it was pleasant and fun.
