Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Best meeting point on the eastcost

Hey folks!
What do you think is the most convenient meeting point on the east coast for 2 people to meet for a weekend, when one is flying from MEX and the other one from FRA accounting for all factors: total travel time, flight timings, cost

The person from MEX can fly within the following times:

Friday 3pm (departure MEX) - Monday 5am (arrival MEX)

Timings from FRA:

Friday 5pm (departure FRA) - Monday 9:30am (arrival TXL)

Dates are either 17/8 - 19/8 or 24/8 - 26/8.

The goal is obviously to maximize the time actually spend together on the ground, while keeping cost low.

Following cities came to my mind:

BOS, NYC, IAD, ORD, PHL, YUL

While some of them are very convenient for the departure and arrival in FRA there are a torture to get to from MEX.

So any input is highly appreciated! Feel free to get creative ;)

Cheers

PS: I am not 100% certain if this is the right section of the forum, so mods feel free to move if necessary.

Except in a very strict topological sense, Chicago is nowhere near the east coast...

I think you will find the most flexibility and things to do in a short time by meeting in NYC, although if the person coming from Germany has more flexibility, MIA might also be a good option for someone with limited time coming from MEX.

I completely agree ;) But ORD is very convenient because of the late LH departure at 5:25pm.

MIA does not make a lot of sense unfortunately, because of the timing and flight time from FRA. It will come down to either BOS or NYC I guess. BOS has the most convenient flight times out of FRA and is a lot cheaper than NYC at the given dates. NYC however is much better connected to MEX. IAD would be perfect as well, but the prices and flight times from MEX are not very appealing.

I guess I'm gonna continue looking for the best price and routing..

You could get to MIA from TXL via FRA, MUC, DUS and ZRH.... Nothing convenient there?

But unfortunately not on Friday afternoon at 5pm or later. Even if I am leaving from FRA.

BA would be very convenient for the outbound given their late departures from LHR to JFK, but the earlierst arrival for the return into TXL is not before 11am on Monday, so not an option.

It is probably going to be BOS, because LH404 is quite full already on the given dates.

What about IAD? Isn't there this late UA fligth from FRA to IAD at 5pm?

I agree, IAD would be perfect. Unfortunately, there is no late afternoon departure from MEX.

MCO maybe?

MIA would most likely be the best.

Alternatively- why not just both meet in MEX?

That would obviously be the easiest way. However, we are trying to maximize the time spend on the ground given the schedule we have (both working until Friday 4pm and back to work Monday 8am). So MEX and even MIA hardly work. NYC is best because of frequencies and schedule, BOS is the shortest for the TATL flying person, IAD would be the geographical choice, if flight with convenient timing from MEX existed.

It is most likely going to be BOS this time and we will see how it works out :)

BOS is a good choice, too, if the flights from MEX work out. The airport is quite close to the city center, and there are many things in Boston to do for a weekend.

Flight times from MEX are not ideal, but DL via ATL and DTW on the return works quite well. And I haven't been to BOS so far, heard its lovely, especially in the summer :)

I have the choice between flying LH to TXL via FRA on LH423 departure at 4:35pm.
Or I can take UA1062 to EWR continuing on UA96 to TXL, departing BOS at 3:11pm.

What time do you think you would have to leave the city and head to the airport for both departures?

Cheers
