United MileagePlus (Consolidated) - Award booking question

My wife and I will be traveling to Sydney in February. Most of the award options are routed through SFO on United metal. As I understand it, the United plane out of SFO to Sydney has shared televisions and no power outlets. A couple days ago an Air Canada flight became available that goes from BOS-YYZ-YVR-SYD. We would much rather take this flight because of the personal TV's and power outlets (gonna be a long flight). However, the flight from BOS-YYZ only has a layover of 1hr 40min and we are concerned about the weather possibilities in February.

I have searched for an award flight from BOS-YVR and found one that connects in LAX for the Saver Award that would get us into YVR with plenty of time for delays. However, this is not an option when I search for the full itinerary.

Is there a way to pull this up on their website or is it even possible to do this? I have tried to put it through as a multi destination but the system does not return anything.
