Nice video!

They sure do a good job taking the aluminum foil packaging product and then plating it nicely in first on real dishware.

I just came back on a long haul Y and the first time got my meals served in a plastic peel-off package. I wonder if that is going to be the new norm for CX Y.

Seems like the lobster is specific to flights originating in YVR as they source live lobsters from Halifax.

I would never have the lobster on flight. I save my stomach for the caviar. The rice in a pot is better than any chinese restaurant in NYC

They serve lobster in many ports JFK/yvr/Yyz/Lhr/syd(back when there was F) must say yvr is one of the better catering ports.

Not in my experience. J class meals on CX are rather disappointing imo.

Lobster for F class only
Actually the J catering ex YVR is pretty good

nice...so even though some chirp at CX about the casarole dishes, they seem to really put a good amount of effort into the same. i have always noted that although the food does not look like something you might get at per se in J, it is always pretty tasty.

Depends on port. From YYZ it is plastic peel-off package. Most ports follow HK package rules with the aluminium.

And approximately 20 hours later having now reached Hong Kong, the answer is, yes! There was a "Stir Fry Lobster with Ginger and Spring Onion" as one of the Chinese mains in today's F menu.

I tried it, having seen how good it looked in the video. And it was really quite tough and rubbery, and somewhat tasteless. It may have been the reheating that caused this, so lobster lovers, YMMV...

P.S. The pear almond crumble with vanilla ice cream and chocolate sauce was just divine though!

I've had plastic covers on my Y long haul Y LAX-HKG round trip for the past few times now. Got to admit that even for Y class product, yea the packaging might not look as good as first class, it still looks tasty as ever! Better than eating cup noodles for dinner on China Eastern Air -.-
