Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Star Alliance Company Plus upgrade in LH - Class "Q" becomes "I": Mileage accrual?

Hi,

A colleague of mine just got an upgrade in a LH flight by using StarAlliance Company Plus awards (aka Partner Plus Benefit, I think).

His original fare bucket was "Q", and now it shows as "I" for that segment.

Will he get the miles for this segment? Will he have to do a retro-claim?

He's using A3 M&B and "I" bucket obviously doesn't get miles in A3 (and probably nowhere)... but I'm not sure if the reported fare bucket from LH will be the original Q or the upgraded I, when reporting to A3.

I know A3 is a different carrier so it may get more complex... But I will be in the same situation pretty soon and I use M&M, so I think it may be better answered here rather than in A3 forum, as people here will probably know more about LH partner programs.

Thanks in advance.

Upgraded tickets will get the original mileage, should be no problem. SACP and PPB upgraders reported problems getting credit earlier this year when the M&M database was migrated to LPS, but haven't seen any recent complaints...

OK, thanks a lot!

PS: Does anybody know if the answer above applies also to A3, or A3 will get "I"?

Hi,

I had no problem getting the original booking class miles in flights taken January/February but had in flights taken in March.

Flying again in I(upgraded from S) this coming weekend. I will report back if I have some problems.

Ive been fliying upgrades from this programme since Jan 2012.

As oliver said you will have the original fare mileage credited and no issues at all.

WELL.

Once in the USA I had problems getting my boarding pass for the main flight cause the airport was SO regional that the US Airways staff did not know how to handle the I fare.... :D

Being an upgrade has not affected at all to the services on board, never at all. And as a SEN, aways being given a personal welcome and being elegible for front or exit seats.

To be honest this "*A company plus" programme is what has made my company stick to LH.

Same rule applies, regardless of the FFP that the flight is credited to.

Hi all again...

It seems my colleague has received the miles for all the legs (Q class) but the upgraded one.

The A3 support service is not very responsive... is there anything we can do or say to make them understand the situation? (I'm sure they haven't even heard of Star Alliance Company Plus).

(Maybe I should post this to A3 forum? but I don't think they know anything about SACP so...)

Did your colleague include a copy of the E-Ticket Receipt (showing the original Booking Class) with their request to A3?

Those that use A3 to get "cheap" STARGold should get used to the non-responsiveness of this program and carrier.
