I will be arriving from HKG on an early Monday morning flight in October. Any experience with shower access at 6-7 a.m.? I am less concerned about other amenities but I am interested in what is available at that time in the premium terminal.

The showers were generally available for me on a 5am arrival from ICN. Regarding food, there is a section with cold cuts and breads. The chocolate croissants are awesome. In one corner of the lounge there is a hot food spread that is labeled as asian or oriental. In another corner there is a continental section with more western selections.

Thanks. I am most interested in shower availability in the early morning. After an all night flight from HKG and facing a 16+ hour flight to IAH at 9:am, a shower is a must, and I am not crazy about lines. The food sounds great as well. This will be my first QR flight and I am looking forward to it. I took advantage of the Star Alliance/United availability. It is the only one-stop flight from HKG-IAH other than United. Nothing better than arriving in your home city without having to transit through ORD, LAX or SFO.

Just got back from flight from BKK-DOH, DOH-IAH. Biz class.
The lounge in DOHA is big, showers are fine, wife and I spent 5 hours there.
Food it good, only one complaint, the shower water is very hot, not cold enough to take a cool shower. All the shower room has the same water temperature, hot. I asked the attendant what the problem was, he said, ground water is hot there. Hmm...
We did FRA-BKK on TG F, and the lounge at BKK as fantastic. Great sleep rooms, showers and food.

Living in Kuwait, the water is similar during the summer. In most cases, the water is stored in fiberglass holding tanks on the roof. That is what feeds your villa/apartment/house. In summer it is normal to turn off your hot water heater because that water is stored in the tank inside. The water stays much cooler than the "cold" water supply coming from the roof.
So in the summertime, the water is reversed where the hot water is actually cold and the cold water is hotter than anything else.
A little confusing:confused:

That's really interesting.
I was in Dxb recently and it was blisteringly hot (nose got sunburnt while smoking) but of course the water in the hotel was fine.
