Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - Elite Credit for nights earning airline miles

Does anyone know if you earn elite night credit for stays where you earn miles instead of points in the Marriott program?

You will earn airline miles and not Marriott points, however, you WILL still earn elite night credit.

Make sure you read the T&Cs on any promos though. You may not earn special bonuses if you are set to earn miles vs. points. But yes, you should get elite night credit for actual stays while earning miles. No one would be able to requalify if they didn't.

And, IIRC, you miss out on the elite points bonus when you earn miles.
