Credit Card Programs - United Mileage Plus: Will there be a better promotion this year?

I'm planning on opening an United Mileage Plus card. Does anyone think there will be a better promotion in the future? I actually see myself receiving only 25K or 30K, not the 40K as advertised--I won't get the additional 10K for the rest of the spend ($25,000 in a year is a bit much). I'd like to get the card no later than September or early October so I can start accumulating miles for an award trip next spring or summer.

I do have a Mileage Plus account (very few points--I only traveled two segments back in 2010). I logged into my account, clicked the link & not a higher offer.

my wife and I each received the following offer via snail mail for the Mileage Plus Explorer card:

50K miles for 1K spend in first 3 months
5k miles for adding an authorized user during first 3 months
10K miles for spending 25K on the card (each year)

the advertisement asserts up to 65K miles and includes waiver of the annual fee for the first year ($95).

theexplorercard.com/65kmiles

it looks like the offer is targeted as you need to sign-in to MP.

Welcome to FT!

For the 65k miles offer link to work, you need to be logged into MP and you need to have a point balance (which you do). Next, just be patient, and paste the link into your browser a few times. You may need to switch browsers and clear the cache. But it should work after a while.

I'm pretty sure that this 65k offer is available out there. I signed up for it last month when there was no minimum spend required.

If the 65k link doesn't work for you then Probably the best way to go about it, is to sign up for the 40k and then send a secure message to Chase to bump you to the 65k + $50 statement credit.
See the thread here. (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milesbuzz/1330475-ua-mileage-explorer-card-offer-up-60k-miles-now-65k-50-statement-credit.html) I did this and got the bump.

So you'll end up getting 55k points. The offer used to be with no minimum spend but now has a $1000 minimum spend which is easy enough. :D

I tried the 65K link, no luck but will try a couple times every day using home & office computers, clearing cache, changing browsers, etc.

In the meantime, I logged into UA & updated my profile, managed email settings to "subscribed". Although I have almost 9,000 miles in my account from 2010, a few minutes ago I transferred 1K in Ultimate Rewards miles to my MP account (they did transfer instantly). I might make a small purchase through the UA mall too this week.

I was reading the MilesBuzz! posts from the past 24 hours and got a working 65K link! Although it's 50K after 1K spend in 3 months, 5K adding authorized user, and the 10K after the $25K spend (not going to happen!) this is a better deal than the 25K/5K/10K offer.

Anyway, I got the "we'll let you know screen", not the expected you are approved screen. :( I realized it hasn't been quite 6 months since I was approved for the Chase Sapphire Preferred card. Newbie mistake as I hadn't read enough about Chase on the boards here. I have an 800+ credit score and a hefty credit limit with them so maybe they'll reduce my limit on my Sapphire card and give it me anyway. Else I hope to try again in a few weeks.

P.S. I did print screen of the screen shots of the 65K offer just in case Chase doesn't give it to me.

If you don't have too many Chase cards already they don't need to reduce your credit line.

If they denied you, just call in for reconsideration. The 6 months rule is not concrete. Most people called and got approved even when their last application was less than 2 months. Since you have a "hefty" credit with them, just ask them to split it up.
