Anyone familiar with these properties?
They look OK inside/outside online, but...?
What about their immediate neighborhoods?
Was pleasantly "shocked" that Middletown/Newport was only 5K PriClub pts. for kitchenette, but is it because...? Thanks in advance!

I have stayed at the HI Express Swansea - It is very nice and in a quiet location. Rooms were comfy, clean and a step above a normal HI Express.

Hyannis one is on a busy street, but well located.

Did you check on the Holiday Inn/Intercontinental board here at FlyerTalk? That's where the HI experts should be.

The HIX in Middletown and HI in Hyannis are on roads sided by malls and fast food restaurants that frankly could be anywhere in America off the highway. That said, I have stayed in both neighborhoods and they are fine and Middleton is a good jumping off point for a couple of days in Newport and from Hyannis you can explore the Cape easily. Hyannis is not often my choice if destination on the Cape but at Pointbreaker rates, you should be fine.

Swansea gets you to Fall River and Battleship Massachusetts but more importantly you can get to Providence fairly easily for the Water Fire and Federal Hill dining but Swansea is hardly a destination. Again for 5k per night, you could do worse, but you will be in the car for up to an hour to get wherever you are going for the day.
