Marriott Rewards (including Ritz-Carlton) - NonMegaBonus
Well turns out that I was one of those plats who was not offered the summermegabonus.
Being really busy at work and failing to spend sufficient time on FT :p this non-offer evaded my radar screen. So I call today to see if I can sign up.
No joy they say - yesterday was the last day to sign up for the offer -- that was not offered.
Plat...yeesh.
Rant off...

That's alright, when I called, they offered me the stay 2 time, get one free night at a cat 1-4. Wow, so I get a dumpy Courtyard or Fairfield night free. Big whoop.
Somehow everytime I was automatically registered for the megabonus (even without the promo at Marriott.com).

I already used one of mine at a $220/nt sold-out Cat 4, worth more than most of the alternatives, and I have 2 certs left. It also freed me up to go for the 15 night option at SPG. If you can use them in the timeframe available, free nights can be a very good option.

I'm quite new to Marriott so I have to ask: Do you mean you could stay at the hotel (and use a cert) even thou the hotel was sold-out before you made the booking? How do you do that?

Thanks, BKKLEE. But is a night "paid" with a cert really considered a paid stay?
no...........
(only other brands like SPG count award and/or C&P nights, however there's supposed to be new news from Marriott today so perhaps they'll start following the others instead of being far-far behind........)
