Hyatt Gold Passport - Earn platinum extra award on award stays?
Do award stays count towards earning Platinum Extra Awards? I couldn't find any existing threads with the answer.
Hyatt says that we earn them on "eligible" stays, but I could not figure out what the definition of an eligible stay is. Diamond members earn welcome bonuses on award stays, and these are similar to the Platinum Extras, so ...I don't know.

Award stays do not count towards earning Platinum Extra awards. Eligible stay would be when you are staying at a hotel. An excerpt from the T&C #4 under "Earning Hyatt Gold Passport Points as a Registered Guest:
"An "Eligible Rate" shall be defined as any hotel published room rate, including, but not limited to rates found on hyatt.com, the Hyatt Daily Rate, Volume Account Rates, AAA and Senior Citizen rates."

Thanks for the quick and clear reply. It's what I expected. Maybe the T&C should say "stay eligible to earn points".

Most corporate accounts are eligible for stays/points, so yes it would count towards Platinum Extras.
