Hi folks,
I am aware that there have been a couple of threads re: transits. If you could point me to the right direction for more info or offer some on this thread that would be great. Much appreciated.
I am flying into BKK on Mon and have a 6.5hr layover. I am flying FRA - BKK - SYD. With 6.5hrs I feel it's too short to get out and hop in a cab to the city. I am aware of the hour massage I am entitled to as well. Does anyone know of any other options for me to fill my remainder 5hrs?
Thanks in advance.

They have an airport express train to the BTS, about 3 bucks...about 17 minutes....you could find a good meal or a short river tour. Also shopping at Siam station. They also have the slow train, take the express. The BTS can take you to most places for shopping and good food.
I have 6.5 hours of layover in PVG early tomorrow. I will be climbing the walls, not much to do in PVG without *A access now.
Have a great trip.

6.5 hours...... by the time get into the lounge, u will have 6 hours left...... Stretch out at the sofa, waste 1 hour, 5 left, then go massage, with preparation and waiting, 3.5 hours left, have a good meal in the lounge after that, 2.5 hours remaining, go walk and stretch legs after the meal, its a long walk in the duty free upstairs concourse D, then you will have slightly more then one hour remaining, which then is about time to board the plane.....
Try get a private room with your own TV in FCL, have some bubbles and snacks. Then the Spa and maybe try the sauna.
Never heard anyone use the sauna here on FT.
Go to SQ lounge for a while and have some Häagen-Dazs.
Don't forget there are quite comfortable slumber rooms in the F lounge in case you want to catch some shut-eye. Other than that, all the suggestions are on the money (incl heading downtown).
If it was me, I'd probably head downtown on the express (as suggested), go to a 5* hotel and access their pool on a day-rate basis, have a nice meal, back to airport, massage then on the plan.
Happy travels.

Thanks everyone. Great suggestions. Was thinking of staying at the airport and wasting time there. Won't eat too much as I would've disembarked a flight then onto the next and another massive meal. Though in saying that, I do like the pad Thai and curries on offer on the menu.
Thought of the train but will have a holdall with me do can't be bothered lugging that around, though tempted to leave the airport and come back through the first check in again (just for fun!).
Will look into the slumber rooms. Where are they located? How do you book them? And finally the jacuzzi in first spa. Do you just ask to use them?

Last week I flew BKK-FRA in F (departing @ 23:45). I checked out of my hotel & went to the airport at 15:00 simply bec the TG F lounge is a wonderful place to spend some relaxing hours.

You can leave your hold all/wheelie bag at the front desk at the Royal First lounge.
The slumber rooms are at the pier C end of the F lounge. Go behind the reception desk, towards the bathrooms/showerooms. Slumber rooms are on the right.
