Finally a good fare on AA/AS at 3.9cpm... The LAX-PDX leg is a codeshare on Alaska...

You can search for this on ITA using routing codes ::AA+ LAX AA+ in both directions. Scattered availability Tues, Wed and Sat in October/Nov. Return will typically be via the redeye LAX-BOS.

Leave enough time for the airside transfer bus from T4 to T6 as well!

Great fare. I'm seeing a bit more availability on some days (I checked in November and December), although the price creeps up a few dollars to 3.9cpm with a few fares in $270-$280 range. Still a good deal.

There are also a few same days in January and February of 2013, if anyone wants to prepare for an early start next year.

Yes. Force a connection in LAX both ways. When looking for same-day turns I see an all-in price of $271.20.

If I wanted to start / return to DCA (DCA->BOS->LAX->PDX) instead of BOS what would the appropriate advanced routing code be?

Just type in BOS LAX on the outbound and LAX BOS on the inbound. But you'll find that will be a lot more expensive since the promotional fare doesn't extend to DCA and even if it did, the fare rules likely wouldn't allow a connection in BOS.

Best bet would to find your own way from DCA to/from BOS, but I would imagine that your repositioning costs would shoot your CPM way above MR range.

I'm also finding prices of $271.20 through DFW (and a couple through LAX on the return) on similar dates beginning in January even though it's not displaying as such on the ITA matrix.

PDX>DFW>BOS>DFW>PDX = 6355 miles

and

PDX>DFW>BOS>LAX>PDX = 6622 miles

There's a double mile bonus on the PDX-LAX leg because AA and AS are competing against Virgin on those routes.

Do I have to sign up for that mile bonus somewhere? or register?

(on BOS-LAX-PDX for $265) There's a double mile bonus on the PDX-LAX leg because AA and AS are competing against Virgin on those routes.

Rabble, is this a targeted double-miles bonus, and is it in AA or AS miles? Could not find it on the AA website... Wonder if it is still available? Do you know the promo code? Thanks

I'm seeing AA: BOS-DFW-PDX for $249 various dates in October on ITA mobile. Not sure about the LAX routing, but yes, this deal appears to be still alive.

Very little out there for LAX in either direction, even just trying to use it in one direction and DFW in the other. BOS-ORD-SEA-PDX both ways is out there, 4.2 cpm with 500 mile minimum SEA-PDX. Dates on anything are extremely spotty.

There is BOS-DFW-SEA-PDX-DFW-BOS out there, $253 for 3.7 cpm but requires an overnight at PDX.
