Reading about the ease of obtaining points attracted me to Hilton. Got 2x 50k cards for my wife.
I am gold (free) and my wife got silver (credit card) status. For upcoming cash stay, I would like to use her card and my status. Is this possible?

I am assuming she will get the credit card points and I will get stay credit. Anyway to get all of them to go to her account and still use my status?

whoever checks in and is staying and paying will get credit.

if it's your stay and her card and she is not staying, she will not be able to get credit (but would get the CC credit if you pay with her card).

For $95 a year, you can solve the problem. If it's been more than 65 days since her last Citi card application of any kind, your wife can apply for this card:

http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/milesbuzz/1369272-new-hilton-hhonors-reserve-card.html

and then she'll have Gold status too (for every year she holds the card, but the card has a $95 annual fee, which Citi may or may not offset with a retention offer in subsequent years, we'll have to see when that time comes). She can also get a couple free weekend night certificates with some minimum spend.

And it doesn't necessarily matter if she still has the two Citi HHonors Visa Signature cards or not, as long as she's not overloaded with other Citi cards.

(You can't have two account numbers in a stay at the same time. So if you need both status and earning points on the stay, the account number that has status has to be the one you'll earn points in. That's why the solution is to get status for both account numbers.)

I gather you want to use your wife's credit card for the bonus points, while getting the upgrade using your status. You can add yourself as an authorized user to your wife's cc. That will get you the hilton cc bonus. There is no credit check when adding authorized users since all the charges are still to your wife's account.

Simple. Why didn't I think about it. Thanks.
