KLM Flying Dutchman - KLM MD11 booked on DL.com - Quirk?

Hi all,

I booked 2 award tickets on DL from ATL-AMS-ATL. We return on KLM metal and I selected row 12 seats using DL's website. According to seatguru, these are EC seats. I did not pay for EC. Will we get moved or did we just luck out?

Shows confirmed seats in Row 12 on KLM.com as well

That's quite nice as DL/KL IT are notorious for not communicating properly.

Are both of you DL DM/PM? If yes, it should be free for you.

I have the same scenario happening to me on a AMS-PTY on MD11 in 4 weeks. I'm booked in row 12 which seems to be EC on seatguru. I'm only gold, so no free EC seating for me.

And this may be my last flight on a MD11 I'm afraid..

A quick look on KLM.com reveils that row 12 isn't EC.

BTW KLM has phased out the first MD-11 last week.

I select a seat in this row last time I flew on a MD-11. The legroom of row 12 is pretty good, as there is extra room due to the rows before being EC.

Never rely on Seatguru, especially when you can find the correct info on the carrier's website! I've come across these errors far too much (on FT, that is).

BTW KLM has phased out the first MD-11 last week.
