Hilton HHonors - Hilton GI, Staten Island, NY
I will be staying here overnight just before we travel on a cruise in October. Can anyone share any experiences with me?
Any comments about the on site restaurant if you have stayed there? We won't be there until later and would rather just eat dinner there. Also, do the rooms have safes in them?
Anything else you can share with me would be appreciated.

I stayed there earlier this year. The on site restaurant (Lorenzo's) is Italian-esque and quite a bit better (and more expensive) than the typical HGI cafe. The rooms are standard HGI, with that great adjustable mattress. I don't recall any safes, but that is a rare amenity in American hotels of the HGI class. You could always call the hotel to make sure.
You may want to check out tripadvisor.com for more reviews (including one that I wrote ;) ).
Much thanks Keeton for your response. I have read the Tripadvisor reviews. I just know that on this site, everyone here is more of a seasoned traveler and I value the opinions. Sometimes on TA, their reviews seem knee jerk (as in upset about anything and everything?). Sometimes, I just take them with a grain of salt. I've traveled enough to know what's acceptable and what's not and I don't expect red carpet to be rolled out when I check in. ;)
Thank you for your insight and I'm glad to hear that the restaurant was good. We are going to be too tired to go out that evening so that works. Have a great week!
Dumb question Keeton. I was just looking on Tripadvisor. Is yourreview under the name 'Keeton', or something else? Also, what was the date it was posted?
I would enjoy reading it. Thanks!
