I'm arriving at FRA on Condor from Seattle - I haven't been through FRA for some years and never on Condor (I'm curious how it will be as it's a much shorter travel time as I start in ANC).

First, I'll have LH lounge privileges as I'm in biz on Condor. Where is the proper lounge located in relationship to the usual Condor gates? Which gates are the usual Condor gates if they have a usual area? I'm connecting to BSL on LH and am wondering if there is a usual area of T1 for European flights and, if so, which so I can get some idea of transfer times.

Thanks very much!

Will you also be in Business on LH to BSL? Apart from the LH arrival lounge, lounge access is dependent on your departing flight. I don't think your arrival Condor BP will give you access to any lounge but if you have M&M status, are *G or departing to BSL in Business you can use LH business or Senator lounge. I don't know where Condor's arrival gates are but the flight to BSL is likely to depart from an A or B bus gate. The only lounges in this area area Business and Senator lounges near gate A26, though there is no convenient lounge close to B bus gates.

Thanks so much for the information - I'll give Condor a call re lounge access as they indicated I would have it for the layover....otherwise, I'll just catch the train!

I loathe bus gates :( so that's another vote for the train! DB is beginning to get a lot of votes!

Thanks again.

I've found this page listing business lounges in FRA but I suspect the information is for departing passengers and not for arriving passengers.

Thanks! Most airlines allow use of the lounge if you arrive on a "qualifying" flight and are connecting but I haven't called Condor or Lufthansa yet.

Would you mind telling me about how long I should allow to go through passport control, collect my bags and get to the train station? I'm thinking I may just go for the train instead as it appears I cannot get on a flight without a 3 hour layover.

Thanks!

I don't think I'm qualified to answer your question about trains but this recent thread in the Germany forum might help.

Off-topic, but why on earth are you not taking Condor's nonstop ANC-FRA or FAI-FRA flight? Was it just booked up?

Now that's a good question! IIRC, the direct Anchorage flights are ending before I return so I would have to come up from Seattle and they couldn't book me in F SEA-ANC. So I just figured I do SEA-FRA and book my own ANC-SEA RT in F. I usually stay overnight on my out and on my way back anyway and now I have a full day in the city to shop on my way out.:D

For what it's worth, I did finally get through to Condor Special Services and inbound comfort class passengers making a connection at FRA are able to use the Lufthansa business lounge during the layover. I ended up deciding, however, to just catch the train from FRA to Basel as I'd rather ride a train than sit in an airport for 3 hours and the cost is the same except that I'm in 1st on the train and Econ on the flight.
