KLM Flying Dutchman - Economy Comfort bassinets
Jul 29, 12, 3:28 pm
Does anyone know if there are Economy Comfort seats with bassinet positions on the 747s? Looking at the seat maps it appears more feasible on a 777 or MD11 as E+ seats are adjacent to bulkheads, but not on the jumbos. Thanks.

afair, the front seats in Y+ are either exit seats (ABC) or the front wall is too far away & a bassinet would obstruct a the connection to the galley (seats DE). So there is no space for it in Y+.

We opted to book with Delta Air Lines for international flight, as they said the could guarantee 2 bassinets IF I upgraded to Economy Comfort and selected first row (right at the wall to biz class - Row 17). Both trips there was no bassinets available, but also the plane was NOT even fitted with brackets to enable that feature. When Delta was confronted with this, they offer a $25 gift card for inconvenience, but upgrades was for $356 and got to fly on old airplane instead of the newer that Scandinavian uses.

Delta should not be guaranteeing you seats at all if the flight is actually on KLM metal. See any of the thousands of posts over the last few years which show that Delta just cannot assign seats on KLM. They neither wish to solve the problem, nor drop the pretence that you can select seats.
The golden rule is - even when you've booked via Delta, or are travelling on a Delta codeshare, ALWAYS select your seats on the website of the OPERATING carrier (www.klm.com or www.aifrance.com). Delta can only be trusted to assign seats on their own metal.
(I assume you were on a KLM flight, as this was posted in the KLM forum)

I'm afraid you assume incorrectly, as he clearly stated he was on a Delta 767.
The post is unrelated and in the wrong forum, though.

Book over the phone with KL - They are quite good at assigning bassinet seats on first come, first served basis.
