you do need to book a time slot in advance, below is the email I received

Good morning ysb41

London is at its best during the summer months and this year promises to be extra special. Along with a host of exclusive Centurion events and experiences, I would like to extend an invitation to join us at our new Westfield lounge.

For a limited time during the games this summer, we have created a stunning lounge and terrace, exclusively for Centurion members, at East London’s most exciting shopping destination, Westfield Stratford City. Situated directly opposite the park’s main entrance, our lounge and terrace are the perfect hideaway if you are attending an event or in the area to soak up the atmosphere.

Located on the roof of the mall, the luxury lounge has an outdoor terrace with one of the best panoramic views across the capital and new stadia, providing the perfect spot to share the excitement of the games. You will receive complimentary refreshments and iPads will be available for your use. A member of the Centurion Concierge team will also always be on hand to help with any queries, restaurant reservations and event bookings.

The lounge is open exclusively for you and up to three guests, from Friday 27 July to Sunday 12 August 2012. Places are limited, to reserve your preferred date and time, please email me.

We look forward to welcoming you.

Great pictures, thank you for sharing. :D

Seems that the security theatre is going on there! The ID requirement is IMHO nonsense. The best place for the passport - during a visit of a city or event - is in the safe of the hotel. Period. :td:

Wow this sounds fun. Do you think I can work a reservation with a US Centurion card? Do you need any other ticket to get in? What's to do there?

Can you PM me the contact email please? Nevermind. I just made reservations through the concierge. But if you have any more details I'd appreciate knowing if it is worth it to visit twice.

Went to the centurion lounge on Sunday. Had already prebooked 3 sessions for next week but we managed to gain access without a prior reservation on the spot. Great views and location is central to the entrance of the park. Complimentary drinks and canapés and use of iPads and binoculars. Would highly recommend any other members to visit- nice place to relax away from the hustle of the park!

Thanks for the info. I look forward to it since none of the events I have tickets for are at Olympic Park so this is the only way I can see it. Unless I score some last minute tickets that is.

I'm just worried since they said that no-shows are billed £25 each if you don't cancel 3 days in advance and I might not want to go to the 2nd session I booked.

Good morning

In addition to our impressive American Express Centurion Card Lounge at Westfield Stratford City, American Express is also available on site at The National Theatre to provide every visitor with specialist insider knowledge of London. Helpful staff will be on hand to recommend hidden gems, to book that elusive place and answer American Express personal account queries.

Until 19th August, American Express Cardmembers can escape the crowds and join us on the National Theatre’s stunning rooftop venue The Deck, which is possibly London’s best kept secret. Exclusive to American Express Cardmembers, soak up some sun and enjoy the views across the Thames with a delicious BBQ every Wednesday & Sunday afternoon or enjoy a complimentary coffee available from 10.30am-1.30pm most days.

I have access to an allocation of tickets exclusively for American Express Centurion Cardmembers. If you would like to book, please provide me with only the last five digits of your American Express Centurion Card and its 4 digit security code. If you would prefer to provide this information by phone, my telephone extension is 4461753. National Theatre tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable once purchased.

Obsessed with his own salvation, the hermit Paulo dedicates himself to ten years of prayerful penance. I was disappointed that AMEX didn’t notify me about any of the Olympic events they are hosting.

I emailed the concierge about the Olympics and was told about 2 lounges and a full brochure of sites and events.
They did make it clear that they could not have any association with the Olympics – Visa has that one locked.

It doesn't speak well to Amex's communication skills that we find out about this stuff on Flyertalk, and only Flyertalk.

Has it ever come across your mind that just because you would like to go and Amex has a Centurion Card location they DO NOT want you to attend. You do have different levels of Centurion holders. Kind of like the Olympic committee inviting holding VIP seats and the VIP VIPs did not show so now they scramble to fill the seats. Now they have egg on face.

Besides being reserved for Centurion VIP's. Amex could also be compounded by the problem that Amex can is restricted in advertising anything Olympic since Visa is the official card. So it would kind of hard to say hi we have this VIP area just outside this arena where the ahemmmmm the 2012 "summer games" are being held. <That wording is most likely even a violation in spirit and we all know the games are about spirit.

It says in the description that the app is only for US cardholders. That said, you might be able to get the same benefits with a non-US card if you give it a try.

I can not believe we have to cover basice business concepts. Some Centurion customers are targetd. This has been documented more than once Ie. if you spend a lot at Harry Winston you get a Harry Winston gift card, etc.

... if you spend a lot at Harry Winston you get a Harry Winston gift card, etc.

Perhaps, but if you spend at competitors you should also be targeted to receive a Harry Winston gift card. Sending discount offers to existing customers may reinforce brand loyalty, but this is not as easy to measure as the new business obtained from first time buyers.

That is nonsense, as has been noted here by reliable posters. There are countless false posts about Centurion here, and if you have been around a while you know who really has a Centurion card and who is posing.

The cards I mentioned are all at the same level with respect to Amex, but the companies paying to market to Centurion customers are allowed to target by zip code. That does not make one card more important or more VIP than any other card.

The events in London are open and available to any US Centurion member, and indeed possibly to Centurion members from other countries. But all US members should have gotten a heads up from Amex about this.

This was a temporary lounge for the Olympics. Nothing to do with Priority Pass, open only to Centurion cardholders.

While at the centurion lounge at the Olympic park, I met my relationship manager. She told me that the lounge primarily is not for all centurion members- it is reserved for 'top'members and other VIP's attending the Olympics. Hence the 'limited/late' mention of the lounge on centurion website.
She also mentioned that centurion were planning on keeping the lounge long term as a handy place to relax while shopping at Westfield
Interestingly there are roughly 40 relationship managers with uk centurion who look after approx 40 clients each...
