Miles & More (Lufthansa, Austrian, Swiss, and other partners) - Plenty of Seats Avialble, but no F Award Inventory?

I am looking for F award space on LH from MUC-BOS or on LX from ZRH-BOS on Aug 9th and the flights seem wide open in F, but there is no award inventory.

We're talking less than two weeks from now. Is it likely that LH or LX will release some award seats as the departure date gets closer?

Should I book a ticket for the routing I want for a future date and hope/expect to be able to change?

Is standby allowed on either carrier, as I have a suspicion that F will be available on those flights?

It is possible that LH and LX will release award seats as the departure date gets closer but there are no guarantees that they will do so. I too was looking for TATL F award tickets this summer and despite searching daily over a long period of time I wasn't able to find F tix on my desired date and travelled in C instead.

You don't tell us which airline's award program you are using so it's not possible to answer your question regarding standby. I can tell you that if you are using UA MP, standby is not possible for either airline.

There are at least two F award seats available toM&M members on LX052 ZRH-BOS (also LH420 422 FRA-BOS) on Aug 9th but no award in any class on LH424 MUC-BOS. As janehoya says award seats may be released nearer the date of travel but there is no guarantee.

You will need 85000 M&M miles plus taxes and fees for a one way award WAW-ZRH/FRA-BOS.

Transfer from SPG to M&M might not be fast enough for your desired date...

So, LH is showing C9/F7 in terms of paid seats on LH 424 on August 9th (Airbus 346).

And, LX is showing C9/F8 on LX 52 (aren't there only 8 seats in F on this Airbus 333?).

We're only talking 11 days away. Based on prior experience, are they both likely to not release any awards seats to *A members and just let the planes fly empty?

Should I book a future date in F and hope to change (is the a change fee if I change the date and not the rougting or class or service?

BTW, LX is even showing no connecting award availability in business class from WAW to ZRH, even though the paid inventory is showing Y9/C9, while LH is showing business class ward inventory from WAW to MUC.

BTW, which is better, nicer, fancier in F: LX or LH? (That's less relevant to the question of whether these guys are just going to hang on to the inventory or release it, and if they are likely to release it, when?).
