Finally the better domestic fall fares start to appear! Best routing is BOS-IAH-SFO-LAS-SFO-IAH-BOS, this is mostly available on Tuesdays only (there are other dates, just not consistently), for $222 RT AI, 2.97 cpm with the 500 mile elite minimum for SFO-LAS. Almost any two UA hub connections (or even just SFO each way) is under 4 cpm. Dates start beginning of September to about May 2013, normal Thanksgiving and Christmas/New Year blackouts as always.
Edit: Although the dates are VERY spotty (mostly only Tuesday departures in late September with a very quick turn and redeyes), there is availability for this fare now on the as posted routing for $206 RT, 2.76 cpm. Will alert the mods to update.

Back-to-back it then as a bunch of one-way fares ;). RDU-IAD-SFO-LAS-SFO-IAH-BOS-IAH-SFO-LAS-SFO-IAD-RDU. Your body will hate you but the miles will be worth it :D.
RDU-IAD-SFO-LAS-SFO-IAD-RDU, with elite mins, is $229, 3.35 cpm, although the RDU-IAD is on an ERJ or a prop Dash 8.

If anyone sees a routing where starting from SFO works, would you please post it (or PM me)? I've tried a bunch of combos without success (and I have some of the prior MR ones SFO-IAH-ORD-BOS and back booked). Looking for next year as I have this one taken care of. Thanks!

I'll check but I doubt it will work. You could try a cheap flight to LAS and start from there, then go something like LAS-SFO-IAH-BOS-IAH-SFO-LAS, but get "wildly sick" (or fail to clear to the LAS gates in T1 at SFO from T3 with enough time :rolleyes:) and miss the flight. Don't do it too frequently though, or $MI/J will come after you and wonder why you get so "sick" so much!

Plenty of dates out there, it's still going strong! Would be nice for me if AA would match it. Come on AA! Stop letting UA have all the low fares :D.
DL has kinda matched, $248 BOS-ATL-LAS-ATL-BOS, but that's 4.8 cpm which isn't much of a great deal unlike the UA one, unless you live in BOS or LAS and only fly Delta and really need to go from one to the other.

Try to look the available times up on ITA, then specify the flight times in multi-city on UA.bomb going BOS-IAH-SFO-LAS and return segment by segment. I just did this and it worked. You can also book them one-way at a time on multi-city, that may work better, especially if you have a decent amount of time before your return from either BOS or LAS.

(You don't have to do the padconnect, but I do it because I have mobility issues)
Then found my dates and booked it multi-city segment by segment.
I learn something new every day! Didn't know you could do that. I assume it only shows flights with a connection of X number of minutes (in your case, 20) over the minimum connection time (MCT)?

EXTRA CONNECTION TIME
Command is "padconnect XX"
Ex: require at least 20 minutes more than airline recommended
minimum connection time
from: BOS ::/ padconnect 20
to: LAX ::/ padconnect 20

Booked a Sun-Thurs BOS-EWR-LAS r/t for work in Oct for $217 this morning (all G fares) and now .bomb is showing nothing but W fares and more than double the price for the same dates and flights. Additional dates in Oct and Nov seem to have been pulled as well.

That's the main reason i chose UA instead of AA. Prices are too high on AA and the the routing rules are more restrictive.

There are still weekend 0-day turns available via SFO/LAX in both directions in late 2012 and early 2013.
For example Oct 20-21 BOS-IAD-SFO-LAS-LAX-BOS 6530 miles (with minimums) for $241 -- 3.7cpm.
Or Feb 2-3 BOS-SFO-LAS-SFO-BOS 6408 miles (with minimums) for $237 -- 3.7cpm.
I booked two of the latter for 2013 as the schedules are really convenient for a quick turn. First flight doesn't leave too early on Saturday, and back early Sunday morning. And no risky winter weather airports (except maybe BOS itself).

SFO is a risky year round airport for weather :rolleyes:. That said, I've gone there 8 times this year, and only once was the fog an issue. I just did elite standby for the earliest possible flight that day.

MRs out of IAD are notoriously scarce (though there was a great deal to GEG earlier this year for around 3.5 CPM). BWI is usually a much better bet, even if it does involve driving or getting on a train.

Indeed, it goes away and comes back fast :D. UA seems to be doing that a lot. I'm wondering (legitimately) if this is a new pricing scheme for them, throw out some low fares and hope to get some people to TOD into F? Or have bookings on UA actually gone down that much? I view it especially in light of the recent RASM numbers that show AA and DL growing at almost 5% while UA is flat. Discussion for another thread though!
