I am a bit surprised by this, I have taken the late flight from Athens (now cancelled) many times and it has always been busy. I thought they got a lot of traffic from the US with US-Greeks travelling via FRA. But maybe this is low yield?

Looks like everyone is pulling out of Greece as fast as they can.
(I have also taken a 100% provision on all our company exposure to Greece).

Plus I reported last month that LX cut SKG.

So the last LH flight from ATH is at 14.10:confused: Really:confused: Hopefully this would help A3 to get more corporate traffic and, therefore, survive these tough times...

But even SN are pulling out when BRU has been sustaining the Greeks. Any sign of an increase by LH on the FRA route? That might be better news for Greece :)

I am sure many of these flights will come back next summer. Winter in Greece is pretty miserable and so no tourists.....

Those reductions are compared with last winter, not the summer timetable.

Those massive cuts are happening because the Greek economy is crumbling, and as a holiday destination only, Greece isn't too attractive for full service carriers. Shame about SQ dropping out, it was the cheapest starting destination for flights to Australasia in C.

I understand. My point, which I did not express very well, is that during winter there are no tourists and obviously the economy has tanked. I do not think that the economy will recover by next spring , but the tourists will return (many of which are flying premium class). I am flying regularly to Athens for pleasure (actually connecting to the islands) and the front of the plane is always packed with tourists from the US and Asia.

This is not about the weather.
As stated before, the comparisons are being made against last winter's timetable.
