For future reference - I was told by two different Chase Ink CSRs today that you cannot downgrade / convert an Ink Bold to an Ink Classic. If you currently have the Bold and want to switch to the Classic, you have to submit a new application. They both said that one of the reasons is that the Bold is a charge card requiring payment in full every month and the Classic is a traditional credit card.

As a few others have reported - it appears that with the Ink Bold you are only given a credit limit, not a credit line, which you must pay in full every month. I just opened an Ink Classic and closed an Ink Bold, and was given no "credit" for my Ink Bold when establishing the new credit line for the new Ink Classic. In order to get the Classic application approved I had to move some of my credit line from the personal side to the business side. They did say I had the option of keeping both the Bold and the Classic open, but the Classic will fill all of my needs.

The credit line (not credit limit) for INK Bold thing is correct. I recently underpaid in error an INK Bold bill by a very few bucks while paying almost the entire amount due and got hit with a $39 late fee. I paid up the balance immediately and Chase nicely credited back my $39.
But, this inspired me to apply for the INK Plus to avoid this possible problem in the future.
That--and the 50K bonus with no minimum spend in the U.S. Mail offer I got a few weeks ago. :D
Good things come in the mail! ^

What if you got the Chase Ink Plus. The benefits are very similar to the bold and, since it's a credit card, at the the end of the year i imagine you should be able to downgrade it the annual fee free Chase Ink Classic...

This is the route I took, when I opened it she offered me 2500 and I had to move 2500 from a personal card over. I declined to move any credit over and she approved me for 5k....later that day I did a CLI on my freedom and got an additional 2500 ;). (They only did 1 hard pull Woop!)
I plan on downgrading to a classic EOY
