As always, account for the China visa costs, or booking an onward paid or award ticket! Someone always needs to mention it anyway :D.

or booking an onward paid or award ticket!

Very good reminder ^ OP is looking to go somewhere else in Asia, but others may miss that

See China forum for TWOV (Transit With Out Visa).

PVG HAS TWOV. The difference is that for most travelers it's 48 and not only 24 hours like the rest of China.

Had 47 hours and 45 minutes on my first layover :)

No, it was for a LAX-PVG-LAX trip. I did think it was kind of odd that it was more MQM than what I earned for MCO-BKK,SIN-MCO. That's why I copied/paste the screen from delta.com.

When you click "detail", you should be able to see the breakdown of the MQM.

Did you book it that way or did the system end up with that? When I went to Cape Town earlier this year I was given double miles on some legs.

Not a good idea to make public about extra MQM, SM given to you in error.

When you actually fly, there won't be extra MQM. DL will never honor that.
