MODS: Feel free to delete, just saw the news tucked away at the end of this other thread (http://www.flyertalk.com/forum/bmi-diamond-club/1352652-vs-still-available-awards-3.html).
According to the Virgin Atlantic website, the arrangements with bmi will cease after 31 August 2012. One assumes this is to be reciprocated on the Diamond Club side.
Also expect that this includes the ability to enter the LHR T3 VS Clubhouse with a DC Gold Card, which was a very welcome privilege (when flying VS in Y) that I will miss greatly.
From the VS page (http://www.virgin-atlantic.com/en/gb/frequentflyer/fcpartners/airlines/bmi.jsp):
As the bmi operation comes to an end it is with regret that the Flying Club agreement will terminate on the 31st August 2012. Please see below for earning and redeeming information.
Please note that as of 1 September 2012, members will no longer be able to spend their Flying Club miles on bmi.
All existing reward bookings on bmi for travel on or after 1 September 2012 will be honoured.
For new reward bookings please contact your local Flying Club helpline to check availability. Travel must be completed on or before 31 August 2012.
If you are due to travel on any bmi operated flight on or before 31 August 2012, your miles will automatically credit to your Flying Club account.
Any travel on a bmi flight on or after 1 September 2012, will not be eligible to earn Flying Club miles.
Due to the bmi / BA merger miles will only be earned on bookings with a BD flight number.
Flight rewards can only be completed up until 31 August 2012 on routes with a BD flight number operated by BD.
