I'm planning on redeeming my Asia Miles for flights that are not operated by Cathay or Dragonair. How long does it take for the request to be processed, and when are the points deducted from my account?

if you call them, you can do it within 4 hours of your flight.
I have never tried *4* hours myself, but with 16 or so hours its perfectly do-able.
Also, I dont remember calling asiamiles after 11pm when ticketing is supposed to be closed and asking for a non-CX ticket, but with a CX Ticket it was perfectly ok.

2 days? never! they can always expedite ticketing if you're in a hurry. i am just not sure what happens if you request your ticket after 2300HKT and needs to fly before 0700HKT the next day (8 hours here, more than the asiamiles ticketing deadline)

Once they confirm your itinerary, charge your card for taxes/surcharges and issue your e-ticket, they will deduct the miles from your account immediately

That means within minutes.

I would suggest having everything sorted 2200 HKT the day before your miles expire by the latest. but you have 1 year to use your ticket so feel free to get it done earlier.

Can I change the date of the flights for award tickets? And if so, how much would I be charged?
