Hey. Just curious about what the aisle looked like back in 95 or 00. And what was the dreaded car like the current panther or Impala?

KevinMD Jul 26, 12, 5:30 am I believe the Taurus was a FCAR at the time and a "popular" choice. 3Cforme Jul 26, 12, 8:23 am 1995 would have seen, IIRC, an Aisle polluted by numerous Pontiac Grand Ams and Buick Centurys. Every era has its garbage cars that manufacturers discount heavily to fleets. abefroman329 Jul 26, 12, 10:56 am I believe the Taurus was a FCAR at the time and a "popular" choice. Pretty sure it was ICAR by 2004. peteropny Jul 26, 12, 11:46 am Going a bit OT here but National used to be almost exclusively GM so I doubt that the Taurus would have been in the fleet back in 00 or especially 95. I've been Emerald Club since 1990 - I fondly remember those early days when Emerald members were entitled to anything on the lot and usually the EA was populated with Cadillacs (I think I drove every color that was produced). Next came Premiums (Buick Park Ave - Pontiac Bonneville). Then came the bottom when EA was regularly Pontiac Grand Ams (yuk) - I almost switched at that point. They've been improving the last couple of years though - big improvements IMO. drzoidberg Jul 26, 12, 3:11 pm Going a bit OT here but National used to be almost exclusively GM so I doubt that the Taurus would have been in the fleet back in 00 or especially 95. Peter, how did you prevent yourself from going insane then? :D I'm very impressed with the improvements National has made lately. They have the lowest mileage cars too. dtremit Jul 28, 12, 12:16 am My rentals don't go that far back, but I'm surprised no one's mentioned Luminas and the always-puzzling Monte Carlo. drzoidberg Jul 28, 12, 3:52 pm Didn't the old reservation system allow you to stack multiple coupons, essentially getting reservations for free? |
