MilesBuzz! - Airport only has AA and Delta flights... while US or UA miles work?

One of the small-ish airports I am flying too only has Delta and AA flights, and those are the small-ish CRJ jets.

When I do a search on US or UA, it doesn't work because the airport is not on their system. I don't suppose US or UA has partnership with Delta or AA?

US and UA are Star Alliance partners. AA is in OneWorld, while Delta is in Skyteam. None of them have domestic partnerships with airlines in other alliances.

If you wait long enough US and AA may merge

There is probably a US/UA serviced airport within an hour's drive, I am guessing a rental is cheaper than a near monopoly priced route to the actual airport. Where are you trying to go?

AA and DL are both partners with AS.

AS isn't in an alliance ;)

Correct but they are still partners.

What airport are you flying to? If you tell us, we can help you find a nearby alternative.

FWIW, though, although UA is my main airline (primarily because I am next to EWR), I do fly Delta once a year because DL is more convenient than UA on that route.

My guess is the airport is something like CSG, they only offer Delta and AA flights. It's about a 2 hour drive from ATL. Since it's a much smaller airport it's a lot less hassle.

I use this airport a lot and that's where BA miles come in handy. I fly from CSG to DFW on AA for 7500 Avios. Spend the night at Grand Hyatt DFW and catch an outbound UA flight in the morning.

Yep, I've expanded my search to include other airports, and there is a major hub, but that's like a few hours drive away. However, that means renting a car, and I would prefer not to spend any extra money at all.

Is your airport destination a secret or something?
