I've booked a trip and tour for the end of next February and the tour agency booked a flight from DFW to Morocco. The flight is on Air France, with the travel to CDG "serviced through Delta". Looking around on the web I see Delta having gates in Terminal 2E and Air France to Morocco going through gates in 2F2.

This will actually be the first time I've traveled to an international destination through another international airport and there are just 70 minutes between flights in CDG. So the question is how challenging it will be to make it to the flight to Morocco since I'm not sure if there is any security I would have to worry about. I saw a forum post on this site with information on time between trains to the other terminal but looking at maps online it's hard to tell the scale of how far it would be from one terminal to the other (plus I have no idea where 2F2 is on those maps).

My take, I'd you are not familiar with CDG , you have a high chance of missing your connection. I suggest asking your agent to book you with at least 120mins transit via CDG.

At the end of October, Air France will move all its flights to non-Schengen destinations, such as Morocco, to terminal 2E ONLY. Your connection will therefore be within 2E, with its three boarding piers. As it will be a connection from an international non-Schengen destination to another one, there will be no passport check, just a security check.

The three boarding piers are connected by an an automated shuttle:

- main pier: K gates
- satellite S3: L gates
- satellite S4: M gates

(note: 2F2 is the right-most, Eastern-most peninsula of terminal 2F; 2F1 is currenly devoted to Schengen flights, while 2F2 serves non-Schengen destinations, just as 2E; at the end of October, both 2F1 & 2F2 will serve Schengen destinations only).

Within Terminal 2E, there are automated shuttles every two minutes; the ride from the main pier to satellite S3 lasts 45 seconds; the ride between satellites S3 and S4 should take about the same time. When you add the time needed to walk to/from the automated shuttle, you need, overall, about 7mn between the main pier and S3, about 10mn between the main pier and S4.

Over 95% of long-haul flights will use a jetway, so the risk of having a remote stand upon arrival from DFW and therefore having to be bussed to 2E is minimal. If your incoming flight is on time, 70mn is more than enough for your connection.

Enjoy your flights :).

70 mns is plenty within 2E, your inbound flight should not be late though. Or Af will put you on the next flight, check there is one just in case...

Jouy31 gave great info as usual.

Thank you JOUY31, that information was fantastic and exactly the information I needed.

The good news is that the flight I am connecting to is the first flight in the morning so there are at least two more flights after that. The only hassle, if I ended up on the later flight, would be letting the agent in Casablanca know so our transfer to the hotel would be rescheduled. Not a big deal there.

It's always easiest though to make the planned flight, so it's good to know that (assuming delays don't happen) that should be easy to do.
