I am considering booking IST-JED-SIN on Saudi Arabian in J (cheap J fare), how is flying Saudi Arabian in J? There is also little information about the seats, but as far as I know the seats are not lie flat at all, just recliners.
Also the JED-SIN/return flights stop in RUH, but on the same flight number. Do you need to clear any immigration and customs for that flight in JED? As far as I could see you don't need a visa for 18 hrs transfer airside providing you are flying on Saudi Arabian.

You can transfer without a visa. I don't know about the immigration customs, but I doubt it sinc eyou can't clear immigration without a visa and in transit you don't need a visa, thus I would say no.
I haven't flown them outside of KSA, but the domestic 777 in J only has recliners. Hope you enjoy, realize it is a dry airline as well..

Only difference Ive ever noted on the 744 and 777 on domestic runs was almost the exact same recliner seat, only spaced further apart in F.
Its dry with terrible IFE. Otherwise they are quite robust and decent.

Yeah I know it's a dry airline so that is really not a problem for me. IST-JED is Airbus 330, while JED-RUH-SIN is Boieng 777. You can select seats in the booking process, the config in the Airbus 330 seems to be a 2-2-2 config with many rows, on the boieng 777 it looks like a 2-3-2 config with only two (!) rows...

Personally, I don't mind SV but I have only flow domestically and regionally. No longhaul so far.

Poor seat for long-haul, terrible IFE, no alcohol. So what makes them "robust and decent"? :D
I only have short-haul RUH O&D experience on the airline, so am curious. I understand that one gets what one pays for, so one shouldn't expect too much given the sometimes eye-opening long-haul J fares, but I wonder if it's worth it.
I assume that one would really not welcome irregular operations on a connecting flight.
