bmi diamond club - BA status match for under-18 BD Gold (family member)?

(Apologies in advance if this has already been covered - I have searched and searched, but not found anything.)

My six-year old son is BD Gold. I would like to status match him into BAEC (especially in light of an upcoming BA flight - for which none of the other family members have status), but it's not clear to me that I can. BA appears to accept only over-18s as members, and I have the impression that the under-18 members of a BA household account may not get any tier benefits.

Is the above correct? If so, is there a work around?

Many thanks in advance!

Everyone in a BA HHA is a member in their own right, with their own status levels and tier points.

Under 18s get full status benefits (e.g. bags, lounge access etc) - the only qualification on that is that they need to be accompanied in some lounges due to local licencing laws.

Excellent news, thanks very much. I'll sign the kids up, and apply for a status match for the Gold card holder!

Kudos to Nicci (BA/DC lurker) for helping out very quickly!

Great news. ^

The BAEC forum crowd love having kids in the lounges so make sure you let him run free and do what kids do at that age.
