Swiss International Airlines - Check bags through to JFK?

My wife to be is flying with Swiss from LHR to JFK via GVA. She is in J class and has 2 separate PNR’s because we used BMI miles.

As she is flying home to New York for our wedding, she will be taking her wedding dress with her. Is she able to store this within the plane somewhere so that it won’t get thrown about etc?

Also, if she checks in online a few hours before, when she arrives at Heathrow, can she speak to the check in people there and get her bags checked right through to JFK?

Bags should be no problem, if both legs are LX and you tell them at checkin. I don't believe there is space in the cabin for the wedding dress, though...

The GVA - JFK isn't super packed in the summer months from what I was once told so they might be willing to accomondate the wedding dress on that flight but on the inter european flight, it really would be a pain in the neck for everybody (crew, you, other guests)
