Cathay Pacific Asia Miles - Lap child ticketing at airport?

I haven't been able to get through to CX reservations in HKG, TPE, or US for the last two days to add a lap child to our Asia Miles award ticket (constant busy signal). Will they be able to process this at the airport? Or should I try to grab a travel agent and have her do it for me before we go?

While theoretically they can do it at the airport, someone here has reported that due to the recent CX reservation system migration it can take extremely long (and that person ended up missing the FLT), so will definately suggest you to sort it out beforehand. When are you departing? Due to the disruptions caused by Typhoon Vincente, CX is not expected to operate normally until after this coming weekend, which is why you have trouble reaching them via phone. (While the US - in fact, YVR - reservation is notoriously hard to reach, HKG and TPE should not be.)

the lap child will cost 20-25% of a full fare ticket on CX. Not cheap
My buddy works in CX just called me last night. (Coz he knows I'm leaving next week)
We happened to have an infant ticket topic.
He claim lot of people bought last min infant ticket at the airport. It's 10% of the class + Tax.
FYI that's Hong Kong base.
Extra info, stroller/booster/car seats won't count as extra luggage/weight ^
