Chase Ultimate Rewards - Ink Bold purchase at office depot

I just started using this card at office depot for 5x points. First month I spent about a thousand also the following month.

Each time I notice that any spending on office depot will go to pending charge for a day (which is normal), then it will disappear from pending charge but not yet on your card activity (Not normal).

Then it will appear again normally later in the next day or two. This is not the case for any other charges.

Are they monitoring to see if those charges are legit to get 5x?????

I noticed that my charges of OD appear after a few days in the account activity for Ink Classic Biz card (the same benifits as Ink Bold, but no annual fees). Not sure why not right away.

I've noticed the same behavior on my two chase biz cards on most purchases (not just OD). Usually appears in pending immediately after use, stays there for up to a day, sometimes less, gone for a day or two, before appearing on current activity.

This doesn't occur on the personal cards. It's a bit annoying as I'm obsessive about tracking my CC spending. But other than that it's never been an issue.

In my case, it happens to everything -- office depot, staples, etc...

Same here. This is a normal occurrence with all purchases on the Ink Bold. It's very annoying.

Have noticed the same with my INK Classic as well... From my perspective it posted as pending, disappears for a day or two then shows up authorized... I just figured there was a ~24 hour period where it was transitioning from pending/final where the charge disappears.

I called in when I first started using the bold card a few months back and they verified it's a new security procedure for all transactions. It happens at other vendors too, not just office depot.
