Hilton HHonors - Weather delay for a points stay

I'm Gold with the no annual fee AMEX card. Have a 5 night stay booked at the Millennium Seoul Hilton starting tonight with points and the VIP discount. But I'm stuck in Hong Kong due to the typhoon. 800-hhonors says the best they can do is register me as a guest now so I won't be charged a no-show. Any chance of HUCA to get knocked down to the 4 night VIP rate, saving 19 K points?

Have you tried calling the hotel?

I've had good luck getting paid stays cancelled after the check in time because of problems with flights.
